Welcome!

Our gym caters for all age groups and fitness levels. Programs are tailored to suit individual needs including rehabilitation after injury, general fitness improvement, strength training, and those suffering chronic health issues.

We like to inspire and support the building of healthy bodies and active lifestyles where members can participate in a range of physical and social pursuits to develop strength, mobility and independence.

The gym was established in 2001 and continues to run successfully through the efforts of hardworking volunteers. The Range Community Gym and Fitness Centre is located in a picturesque setting overlooking the Mapleton Lilyponds. The gym promotes opportunity to train outdoors with fresh mountain air in a relaxing and peaceful environment.

PROGRAMS

CIRCUIT CLASSES

Circuit classes are run on Friday and Saturday mornings – a great fun way of getting fit and keeping fit!

EQUIPMENT

We offer a range of equipment to suit all users including machine weights, free weights, treadmills, rowers, bikes, steps and more….

COMMUNITY

Acknowledgments

We would like to acknowledge the Sunshine Coast Council for their ongoing financial support. Funding from council has been vital to our gym facility. It’s wonderful to have support from local government!

Major Grants

  • 2025 – Funding of $2,000 under the Major Grants Scheme to assist with the implementation of a Computerised Member Management System
  • 2020 – $10,000 received for gym floor expansion

Minor Grants

  • 2023 – Funding $2,000 for First Aid Refresher Training for volunteers and members
  • 2019 – Minor grant allowed the gym to operate and provide members with additional quality exercise equipment
  • Covid-19 emergency grant assisting the gym with additional cleaning and sanitising

Community Partnerships Grant

  • 2025-2027 Funding of $3,250 per year to assist with the Gym’s Insurance expenses
  • 2021-2024 Funding of $3,000 per year to assist with the Gym’s Insurance expenses

The Queensland Government has provided invaluable grant funding to the Range Community Gym and Fitness Centre to purchase new gym equipment and improve existing facilities.

Funding has been granted under the Active Clubs initiative plus the Gambling Community Benefit Fund. These grant programs have enabled the gym to provide a modern space with quality gym and fitness equipment for the community.

Specific Covid pandemic support ($2,000) was also provided for the purchase of cleaning materials which enabled members of our community to continue to participate in sport and recreation activities safely during a time of unprecedented uncertainty.

Active Clubs Grant

  • 2024 – $2,500 granted for volunteer recognition
  • 2023 – $2,500 granted to purchase equipment and supplies to enable Queenslanders to participate in sport and recreation activities
  • 2022 – $2,500 granted for cleaning materials and rent
  • 2020 – Active Restart Infrastructure Recovery Fund $4,888 granted for equipment purchase
  • 2019/2020 – Emergency Support Grant $2965

Queensland Government Gambling Community Benefit Fund

  • 2024 – $20,966 granted for the purchase of new gym equipment
